It’s an honor to be invited to be the Conductor and Artistic Director of the Seattle Wind Symphony. For years I have thought about the possibility of conducting a professional level adult Wind Ensemble at an extremely high performance level.

Seattle Wind Symphony programs will include many of the outstanding traditional twentieth century wind band compositions of artistic merit, balanced with contemporary wind band literature and appropriate transcriptions. Each program will feature a soloist and include lighter works for contrast and variety.

I’m considering some of the following literature for the premier season with the Seattle Wind Symphony:
                  Lincolnshire Posy – Percy Grainger
                  Redline Tango – John Mackey
                  Festive Overture –Dmitri Shostakovich
                  Symphony For Band–Paul Hindemith
                  Music For Prague– Karl Husa
                  La forza del destino–Giuseppe Verdi
First Suite in E--‐Flat for Military Band –Gustav Holst
                  Overture to Candide –Leonard Bernstein
Black Dog (Clarinet Concerto) –Scott McAlister
                  March, Op.69 –Serge Prokofiev
                  Fantasia in G –JS Bach
                  Invincible Eagle –JP Sousa
                  Music of Living Contemporary Composers:

David Maslanka, John Mackey, Chen Yi, Frank Ticheli, Steven Bryant, Donald Grantham, Carter Pann
